Herbarium Labs is a technology company building integrated ecosystems to strengthen agrarian livelihoods using IoT, blockchain, and applied AI.
Our focus is on converting agricultural activity into high-integrity, real-time data that can be used to improve production outcomes, establish trust across supply chains, and enable new forms of financial access for growers.
Our technology roadmap is anchored around three core systems, each with multiple product offerings:
• A Yield Management and Optimisation System that captures environmental and cultivation data to reduce variability and improve predictability
• A Provenance and Traceability Platform that creates verifiable records of cultivation and harvest for authenticity, compliance, and market access
• A Real-Time Financial Data Interface designed to support parametric insurance and lending for agrarian use cases
Together, these systems form a unified data layer that connects on-farm activity, supply chain verification, and financial infrastructure.
Our objective is to aggregate verified cultivation data to define clear, objective triggers for parametric finance, enabling structured financial protection against crop failure and production shocks.
Mushrooms serve as a proof-of-concept crop through which we demonstrate how data-driven infrastructure can stabilise production, improve income predictability, and unlock finance within local agrarian ecosystems, with the intent to scale across crops and regions.
