Mark Saunders

Principal Architect

Mark Saunders is a Senior Principal Architect with extensive experience in broadcasting technology. After a 25-year tenure at the BBC, where they developed and implemented the Radio Data System (RDS) and were integral to the launch of Digital Audio Broadcasting, Mark moved to the USA in 2005. They served as a Lead Engineer and Lead Architect at Nokia and have held the position of Principal Architect at HERE since 2005, focusing on RDS-TMC services and standards development. Mark is also a vice chairman of the International RDS Forum and a founding member of the TPEG group. Currently, Mark is working on next-generation traffic information distribution technologies and the development of RDS2.
