Heritage Press Ltd was founded by John Dunmore in 1969, to publish local history and memoirs with a New Zealand connection, from scholarly works to family or corporate histories.

Our mission is to preserve and share works that keep the past alive for future generations. Our books are produced in paperback, hardback, or ebooks, and sold through normal New Zealand book trade outlets, to libraries, to collectors, and here on our website.

We are currently reviewing our large collection of publications that are no longer available in print form, and converting them to ebooks where appropriate. If you have a family history or book you believe should be available for researchers of New Zealand history, but which is no longer in print, please contact us for an assessment of its potential as an ebook. Write to editor@heritagepress.nz.
