Heritage Workshop is Melbourne’s leading progressive heritage consultancy. We provide strategic advice, rigorous planning, creative interpretation, and meaningful community engagement to Property Owners, Developers, the For-Purpose Sector, and Government.

We move beyond the standard "tick-box" approach. Led by Dr James Lesh, our team combines academic rigour with strategic pragmatism to deliver certainty in complex environments.

Our Core Capabilities:

🏛 Permits & Approvals: Heritage Impact Statements, CMPs, and navigating the Heritage Overlay.
🏗️ Strategic Advice: Feasibility, masterplanning, and design advice for architects and developers.
📍 Placemaking & Policy: Heritage interpretation, social value assessments, and strategic policy development.
⚖️ Expert Witness: VCAT and independent peer reviews.

Why Heritage Workshop?

We don't just identify constraints; we find the opportunities within them. Whether it is a sensitive residential extension or a major precinct renewal, we ensure heritage becomes an asset to your project, not a roadblock.
