Marla Shapiro

Marla Shapiro is the Managing Partner at HERmesa, a women-led angel investment syndicate focused on supporting female (co)founded tech and deep science ventures in the UK and Europe. With over 15 years of experience in media and technology, they specialize in building sustainable, revenue-generating businesses and have held key roles in various companies, including Voddler, Jamatto, and the Financial Times. Marla is also a mentor to young entrepreneurs through the Imperial College London’s Venture Mentoring Service and has founded Front Yard Consulting to provide commercial services to start-ups. They have a strong commitment to investing in underrepresented founders to promote a more gender-balanced future. Marla is currently pursuing education at MIT Sloan School of Management.
