Michael Smayda

Michael Smayda is the Founder and Chief Product Officer of Hermeus. Prior to Hermeus, Michael was the Director of Systems Engineering and Lead Aerodynamics Engineer at Generation Orbit Launch Services, Inc. where they were responsible for the aerodynamic, aerothermal, and aeroelastic design, analysis, and testing of the X-60A rocket plane. Michael also worked as a Sr. Aerodynamics Engineer and Aerodynamics Engineer at SpaceX where they were responsible for the design and analysis of several parts that flew on the Falcon Heavy rocket. Michael has also been a technical advisor for Cornell University's Hyperloop competition team.

Michael Smayda has a PhD from the University of Virginia in Aerospace Engineering and a degree from Cornell University in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
