Herní historie (Game History) is a non-profit organization that oversees two unique projects: RetroHerna and Československý herní Archiv (Czechoslovak Game Archive).

With RetroHerna (www.retroherna.cz), we travel to festivals and conferences and let all visitors experience game history firsthand. All our consoles and computers are connected and functional. We have a network of computers of various ages, 8-bit, desktop consoles from the oldest and most famous to the most obscure. We also organize lectures on old games and their archiving, and we make sure that everyone goes home knowing that old games have a charm that deserves to be remembered.

The Czechoslovak Game Archive (www.herniarchiv.cz) aims to preserve gaming culture in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Its main activity is cataloging and archiving all artifacts related to the history of games, such as magazines, period equipment, or media containing video game content. As part of the project, we cooperate with a number of international organizations and want to contribute to the establishment of an official institution in our country that would oversee the local footprint in this cultural sector.
