Ben Heckmann is a software engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Informatics from the Technical University of Munich and is currently completing a Bachelor's thesis in Prof. David Doty's lab at the University of California, Davis, focusing on the computational complexities of Chemical Reaction Networks (CRNs). They have experience in backend development and enhancing testing infrastructure at Recoro, where they built a real-time "conversation coach" for video calls. Additionally, Ben has contributed to open-source projects and actively participates in programming challenges and hackathons. They co-authored a research paper on chemical reaction networks, which was accepted at DISC '24, and presented their findings at the conference in Madrid, Spain. Currently, Ben holds the position of Senior Full Stack Engineer - AI at HERO Software.
