John Mellinger

John Mellinger is a senior mechanical design engineer at Heron Power, focusing on power electronics design for the Powerwall 3 since 2025. Prior to this role, they held positions as a senior mechanical design engineer and mechanical design intern at Tesla from 2024 to 2025. John also co-founded Primal, where they designed an ergonomic office chair, and contributed as a data scientist at Primary Services, utilizing machine learning to streamline the recruitment process. They earned a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, where they also completed their Bachelor's degree in the same field.
