Hertsmere Mencap is a local charity supporting people with a learning disability in Borehamwood, Potters Bar, Bushey, Elstree, Radlett and beyond. We have transformed the lives of hundreds of people in our community, by leading them out of isolation and helping them make friends, learn new skills and provide support and advice.

What Hertsmere Mencap Has to Offer
Hertsmere Mencap supports children, young people, and adults with learning disabilities and their families across the local community. We provide a range of activities and services that promote independence, confidence, and inclusion.

Adult Activities
Inclusive activities for adults with learning disabilities, offering opportunities to socialise, learn new skills, and build friendships in a safe and supportive environment.

Children’s Holiday Club
Fun and structured holiday activities for children with learning disabilities, including games, creative sessions, and free play, while giving families valuable respite.

Member Support
Information, guidance, and ongoing support for members and their families, including signposting to local services and advice when needed.

Employment Support
Support to help people with learning disabilities explore employment, build confidence, and develop workplace skills.

Events
Community events held throughout the year to bring people together, raise awareness, and encourage inclusion.

Volunteer
A range of volunteering opportunities where individuals can make a positive difference and support people with learning disabilities.
