James D. Short

James D. Short, Ed.D., CISSP, is a seasoned cybersecurity and risk management leader with over 25 years of experience in IT, education, and security. Currently serving as a Cyber Risk Partner at Hertz, they align cybersecurity strategies with organizational goals to enhance enterprise resilience. Previously, James held various roles, including Director of Information Security Assurance at The School District of Lee County and Assistant Director of IT Support, and contributed to academia as an adjunct professor at multiple institutions. They earned an Ed.D. in Education Leadership from the University of Central Florida and a Master of Education from Florida Gulf Coast University.
