Yi Zhang

Yi Zhang is a Senior Data Scientist at Hertz since September 2023, specializing in machine learning, SQL, Python, Tableau, Databricks, and AWS, with a focus on designing and implementing models for driver safety scoring and forecasting in car rentals. Previously, as a Principal Data Scientist at Huawei Ireland Research Center from January 2020 to August 2023, Yi worked on AI model research and development, particularly in anomaly detection and failure prediction systems for Huawei Cloud. Yi served as a Research Fellow at Trinity College Dublin from June 2015 to January 2020, leading projects for the European Commission H2020 while analyzing user data and applying deep learning techniques for resource optimization. Past experience also includes a role as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Politecnico di Torino, where Yi focused on energy-saving algorithms for WiFi systems and solar energy applications. Yi holds a Ph.D. in Computer Networks and Electrical Engineering from Tsinghua University and was a visiting Ph.D. student at the University of California, Davis.
