Lee Kuczewski has a diverse work experience in the eye care industry. Lee is currently working as the CCO at Heru, a spinoff company from the University of Miami's Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. Prior to this, they founded and served as the CEO of Merging Futures, a product innovation studio focused on advanced technologies for the eye care industry. Lee also held the position of Board / Director of Operations / Telemedicine at Smart Vision Labs, where they helped make vision care more accessible through optical telemedicine. Before that, they co-founded Polarity Projects, an R&D product innovation studio specializing in smart eyewear and vision technology. Lee has also served as the co-founder of Lee Allen Eyewear, an eyeglass manufacturing company that was acquired, and worked as an ABO Certified Optician / Lens Maker at Providence Optical. At the start of their career, they were an apprentice optician and ophthalmic lens maker for Luxottica Retail.
Lee Kuczewski holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Data Visualization from Parsons School of Design - The New School, which was obtained from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, Lee completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Anthropology/Sociology from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, spanning from 2000 to 2004. Additionally, Lee has an ABOC certification from the American Board of Opticianry, although the specific month and year of obtaining this certification are not provided.
