Established in 1894, Herzog Hospital is Israel’s foremost center for geriatric, physical rehabiltation, chronic respiratory, mental health and psychotrauma care, treatment and research. With 428 beds, it is the third largest hospital in Jerusalem. A  Children’s Chronic Respiratory Care Department treats children ranging in age from 3 months to 21 years.  The newly constructed Glassman Ambulatory Health Center houses all outpatient care. The Community Mental Health Center which treat 2000 men, women and children each month and Herzog’s Israel Center for the Treatment of Psychotrauma which treats children and adult victims of terror attacks, war, domestic violence and other causes of trauma and provides training in Israel and internationally has also .The Hospital’s Clinical  Research Center for Brain Sciences  concentrates on Neurodegenerative Diseases with a special emphasis on Parkinson’s Disease, schizophrenia, and other brain disorders and related diseases. Due to the dramatic growth of Herzog Hospital, a new pavilion has been constructed that will add 200 more much needed beds. The Hospital converted its 160 bed Sheltered Underground complex into a Covid-19 Isolation Unit.
