Alvin Tan

Alvin Tan serves as the General Manager of Portfolio Construction and Risk at HESTA since July 2018, where responsibilities include supporting product development, leading discussions on investment objectives, and developing investment strategies. Previously, Tan held several senior roles at HESTA, including General Manager for Quantitative Analysis and Research, and General Manager for Strategy and Economic Research, focusing on strategic asset allocation and investment policy. Prior experience includes positions as Principal Consultant at Frontier Advisors, Lead Portfolio Manager at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Quantitative Analyst at AllianceBernstein, Research Analyst at Macquarie Bank, and Economist at the Reserve Bank of Australia. Alvin Tan holds a CFA designation and a PhD in Econometrics from Monash University, where also obtained a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) degree in Economics/Econometrics.
