David Dunne has a diverse work experience in the fields of performance science, nutrition, and behavior change. In 2012, they worked as a Performance Nutritionist, providing private consultation to Olympic and professional athletes. From 2013 to 2020, they served as a Performance Nutritionist for Harlequins Rugby Club. David also worked as a Performance Nutrition Consultant for British Canoeing from 2014 to 2021. In 2016, they joined ORRECO as a Performance Science Consultant, where they remained until 2021. During this time, they also worked as a Visiting Lecturer on subjects such as nutrition, behavior change, design thinking, and technology at various institutions including the IOC, UCL, UCD, St. Mary's University, Surrey University, and Liverpool John Moores. In 2018, David founded their own company Hexis, where they currently hold the position of Founder & CEO. David also serves as a Performance Science Consultant for both the Ryder Cup and the DP World Tour. Additionally, they worked as a Performance Nutritionist for the Italian Rugby Federation from 2019 to 2019 and as a Cohort 1 Venture Scientist for Conception X from 2018 to 2019. Overall, David Dunne has demonstrated expertise in performance science, nutrition, and behavior change across various organizations and industries.
David Dunne has a strong educational background in the field of nutrition and sport science. David began their studies in 2003 at Blackrock College, where they completed their Leaving Certificate in 2009. In 2009, David enrolled at St. Mary's University College, Twickenham, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Sport Science, graduating in 2012. Following this, in 2013, they pursued further education by attending the International Olympic Committee, where they completed the IOC Diploma in Sports Nutrition. In the same year, they also completed the ISAK Level 1 program.
Continuing their academic journey, David Dunne pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree at Liverpool John Moores University, specializing in Nutrition, Behaviour Change, and Technology. David embarked on this program in 2015 and successfully completed it in 2021. Overall, David has accumulated a diverse range of educational experiences, building a solid foundation in nutrition and sport science.
