Luis (Lou) Rivas is an experienced technical leader in rubber research and development, currently serving as Technical Manager at HEXPOL Compounding since March 2016, overseeing both R&D and quality. Previously, Rivas held the position of R&D Manager at The Carlstar Group, leading a diverse team in the development of rubber compounds for specialty tires. Rivas's extensive background includes roles as a Rubber Technical Specialist and Global Rubber Manager at Federal-Mogul, where responsibilities encompassed developing extrusion rubber compounds and coatings for North America and Europe. Rivas began a career in rubber technology at Trico Products as Rubber Technology Manager and has a solid foundation in technical service and research engineering from earlier positions at Beloit Corporation and Champion Morenci. Rivas holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from The University of Texas-Pan American, along with certifications in Project Management and Six Sigma Black Belt.
