Chris Cardé

Founder and CEO at HeyCharge

Chris Cardé has a long history of experience in the technology industry. Chris began their career in 2000 as a Researcher and Team Leader at UC Davis Hybrid Electric Vehicle Center, where they built plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and led a FutureTruck competition team that placed in the top 3 and won the overall competition in 2001. In 2004, they joined Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America, Inc. as a Systems Engineer, then a Senior Systems Engineer, and later a Product Manager and Technical Lead for the smart drive app for the iPhone. In 2011, they joined Google as a Technical Program Manager for Android Auto, Better Mobility, and Google Maps Automotive. In 2013, they became a Founding Advisor at Genetrainer. In 2018, they became Vice President Technical Solutions at E.ON, where they built a product and engineering team from 3 to 28 people and brought a digital-first, bottom-up, innovation-driven "Google culture" and way of working to the company. In 2016, they founded and became CTO of Bed Sense, where they led the technical architecture and product development. In 2020, they founded and became CEO of HeyCharge, building infrastructure for the next 10 million EVs in Europe.

Chris Cardé obtained their B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of California, Davis in 2000. Chris then continued their education at the same institution and received their M.S. in Electrical Engineering in 2004. In 1995, they obtained their Private Pilot - Single Engine Land certification from the Federal Aviation Administration. Prior to this, they attended Amherst Regional High School from 1992 to 1996. Chris is currently enrolled in Y Combinator.
