John Rupnik has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. John started their career in 1987 at the Office of Naval Research as the Deputy Director of Advanced Technology Demonstrations. In 1992, they joined Labat Anderson Inc as the Director of Technology Programs. In 1997, they began working at HydroGeoLogic, Inc, initially as the Director of Human Resources and later transitioning into the role of Senior Vice President. During their time at HydroGeoLogic, Inc, they also served as the Environmental Planning Division Manager, where they were responsible for identifying and executing projects related to energy management/efficiency, federal program support, RCRA compliance, and natural resources. In 2007, John became a board member, treasurer, and eventually president at SEBAC until 2011.

John Rupnik earned their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Environmental Science from Rutgers University, where they studied from 1967 to 1971. John later pursued further education at the University of Southern California, where they obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Systems Management from 1983 to 1985.
