Danielle Berman

Danielle Berman is a seasoned professional currently serving as the Director at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services since 2024. Prior to this role, Danielle worked as a Senior Evidence Analyst at the Office of Management and Budget from 2020 to 2024 and held the position of Branch Chief at USDA-FNS from 2016 to 2020. Danielle also contributed to academia as an Adjunct Professor of Sociology at Georgetown University from 2013 to 2018 and as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Beloit College. Their career in research began as a Social Science Research Analyst at the USDA Food and Nutrition Service from 2012 to 2016 and earlier as an Outreach Specialist with Covering Kids and Families in Wisconsin from 2008 to 2010. Danielle earned a B.A. in Philosophy and Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and completed a PhD in Sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
