Michael Bernier

Michael Bernier is currently serving as the HHS Deputy Performance Improvement Officer and Branch Chief for Program Engagement and Performance at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, with a focus on Medicare and CMS Program Management. Previously, they held roles as Branch Chief for Budget and Performance Policy and worked as a Senior Advisor for Learning and Evaluation at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Michael's career includes experience as a Presidential Management Fellow at the Congressional Research Service and as a Program Analyst at the Department of Health and Human Services, where they contributed from 2009 to 2020. They earned a Master's Degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA from San José State University.
