Michael Bruninx

SVP, Services at Hiab

Michael Bruninx is the Senior Vice President of Services at Hiab. Michael has over thirteen years of experience in leadership positions in the mining and construction industry. Bruninx has a proven track record in developing and executing business strategies, as well as improving operational efficiency and profitability.

Bruninx began their career at Atlas Copco in 2006 as Managing Director. In this role, they were responsible for leading the company’s operations in Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands. Bruninx was successful in increasing sales and improving profitability in these regions.

In 2014, Bruninx transitioned to Sandvik where they served as Vice President Parts & Services Business Mining & Rock Technology. In this role, they were responsible for a 12.5 billion SEK business (1.2 billion EURO). Michael successfully grew market share by 9% and improved EBIT by 4%. Additionally, they reduced NWC by 9%. Bruninx also led the development and implementation of the company’s corporate development and divisional strategy, which included a major transformation. This transformation resulted in the establishment of a central management team with strong local leadership teams across the world. Additionally, Bruninx oversaw a global restructuring of resources with clear roles, missions, and accountability.

Most recently, Bruninx has been with Hiab since May of 2020 where they serve as Senior Vice President of Services. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing Hiab’s aftermarket business and developing new business opportunities. Additionally, they lead Hiab’s digital transformation initiatives to enable sales and service teams to deliver top and bottom line results.

Michael Bruninx works with Hannu Rissanen - Vice President, Information Management, Barry Mcgrane - SVP, Loader Cranes Light & Medium, and Simon Greaves - CFO, Finance & Business Control. Michael Bruninx reports to Scott Phillips, President.
