Eric Lightcap

Executive Director at HiberCell

Eric Lightcap has extensive work experience in the field of oncology. In 2021, they became the Executive Director at HiberCell. Prior to that, they were the Scientific Director at Takeda Oncology from 2008 to 2021, where they were responsible for overseeing mechanism of action studies, managing a group of 7-10 computational biologists, and developing shRNA and CRISPR platforms. From 1999 to 2006, they were an Associate Scientific Fellow and Senior Scientist II at MILLENNIUM PHARMACEUTICALS, INC., where they provided oncology expertise to the Computational Biology Group and developed expertise in applying genomic technologies to drug discovery and development. Eric was also a Senior Scientist II at LeukoSite from 1999 to 2001 and at ProScript from 1997 to 1999. From 1994 to 1996, they were a Senior Research Biochemist and Research Biochemist at DowElanco.

Eric Lightcap began their educational journey in 1982 when they earned a B.S. in Biochemistry from Indiana University Bloomington. Eric then moved on to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they obtained a Ph.D. in Biochemistry in 1991. Afterward, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow in Chemistry at Northwestern University from 1991 to 1994.
