Tom Platner

Tom Platner is a seasoned innovation executive currently working as a semi-retired contractor since January 2022, focusing on technology innovation, turnaround strategies, and aviation interests. With extensive experience at HID Global since August 2006, Tom has held positions as VP Global Engineering and VP Engineering, spearheading product development processes across multiple engineering centers and emphasizing Oracle's Agile Product Lifecycle Management. Previously, Tom was the VP of Engineering and Manufacturing at Fargo Electronics, managing new product development and global manufacturing for a leading technology company. Earlier roles include Director of Engineering and Director of Product Development at Emerson - Rosemount Measurement, where responsibilities included product development for pressure sensing and automation controls. Tom earned an MBA from the UMN Carlson School of Management and a BSME from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
