David Lu is a seasoned security researcher and computer science instructor with extensive experience in both academia and the tech industry. They served as a Senior Engineer in Threat Research at Qualys from 2021 to 2024 and are currently a Senior AI/ML Threat Operations Specialist at HiddenLayer. David taught numerous computer science courses at Portland State University from 2015 to 2022, including a specially designed Philosophy of CS course. In addition, they have an academic background in philosophy, being an MPhil candidate and PhD candidate at Syracuse University, where they previously held a position as an adjunct instructor in the Department of Philosophy.
