Tanner Burns

Tanner Burns has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Tanner is currently the Co-Founder & Chief Scientist at HiddenLayer, a position they have held since March 2022. Prior to that, Tanner worked at Qualys as a Senior Data Science Engineer from September 2021 to March 2022. Tanner also worked at Agari as a Senior Data Scientist Engineer from December 2020 to September 2021. Before that, Tanner worked at BlackBerry as a Senior Threat Researcher from March 2019 to December 2020. Tanner gained experience as a Threat Researcher at Cylance Inc., where they held the position from May 2018 to March 2019, and as a Threat Researcher Associate from June 2017 to May 2018. Tanner started their career as an Undergraduate Researcher at Texas State University, where they conducted research in computer security and developed a security CTF platform for students from April 2016 to December 2016. Tanner also worked as an Assistant to Dr. Moonis Ali from January 2014 to April 2016. Additionally, Tanner gained early work experience as a Sales Associate at Batteries Plus Bulbs from August 2011 to January 2015.

Tanner Burns completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from Texas State University. Tanner attended the university from 2013 to 2016.
