Duane Schell

Duane Schell has extensive work experience in the field of technology. Duane is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at High Point Networks, a position they started in January 2023. Prior to this, they held the same role at the North Dakota Information Technology Department (ITD) from July 2018 to January 2023.

Before joining ITD, Duane Schell worked at the North Dakota Information Technology Department from 2001 to 2018. During their time there, they held various positions including Director of the Network Services Division from 2009 to 2018, Manager of Business Communications Technology from 2007 to 2009, Computer Systems Manager from 2004 to 2007, and Systems Administrator from 2001 to 2004.

Their earlier experience includes working as the Director of Information Systems at the ND Department of Public Instruction from 1997 to 2001.

Duane Schell earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, CIS, and Business from the University of Mary, where they attended from 1987 to 1991. In addition, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Mary. Duane Schell also holds a Prosci® Certified Change Practitioner certification, which they obtained in November 2020 from Prosci.
