We are a non-profit organization operating in the Caribbean region. 

The Police Transparency Initiative is aimed at achieving greater transparency in police organizations. Transparency will lead to:

Less incidents of police abuse

Misconduct takes the form of arrest without cause, detention for lengthy periods without justification, fabrication of criminal charges and unwarranted physical violence.

More public trust in the police

Particularly in at risk communities citizens are unwilling to report crimes or provide other assistance to the police, in part because of police abuse which has caused significant distrust.

More public cooperation with the police

With less instances of police abuse and greater trust in the police citizens will be more willing to provide information about crimes in their communities.

Improved crime detection

In the Caribbean region the police still rely heavily on traditional forms of intelligence gathering.

Less crime

Improved detection will lead to less crime.
