Ren Wilkey

Assistant Lead Tech Animation Artist at High Voltage Software

Ren Wilkey has a diverse work experience in the field of animation and media. Ren started their career in 2008 as a Photo Retoucher at HR Imaging. In 2012, they worked as an Animator at Lincoln Bark and as an Artist at DePaul Animation Bluelight. Later that year, they also served as a Technical Director at KG Digital Media. In 2013, they worked as an Animation Instructor at Gen Tech Digital Media & Technology Center.

From 2014 to 2017, Ren worked as a Medical Animator at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, where they created realistic medical animations and models using various software. Ren collaborated closely with surgeons and doctors to develop models for educational purposes.

In 2017, Ren joined Connections Education as a Character Animator, where they worked with instructional designers to create 2D cut-out style animations using Adobe Character Animator and After Effects. Their role involved animating characters based on provided storyboards.

From 2017 to 2019, Ren worked at NetherRealm Studios (WB Games), first as a Junior Associate Artist/Animator for Mobile In-Game, and then as an Associate Artist/Animator for Console Cinematics.

Currently, Ren is working at High Voltage Software as an Assistant Lead Tech Animation Artist, starting in April 2019.

Overall, Ren has gained comprehensive experience in various animation roles, including medical animation, character animation, and console cinematics.

Ren Wilkey attended Joliet Junior College from 2008 to 2010, where they obtained an Associate Degree in Game Design and Production. Ren then went on to attend DePaul University from 2010 to 2013, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Animation.
