Nicola Morris

Nicola Morris is the current Chief Operating Officer at Highnote. Prior to joining Highnote, they served as President of Emerging Markets and Chief Corporate Development Officer at WEX Inc. from February 2014 to April 2021. While at WEX, Morris was responsible for leading the company's overall growth strategy, which included setting strategy, identifying M&A targets, developing financial models, negotiating transactions, and leading post-merger integration. Under their leadership, the company more than doubled in revenue and market capitalization. Morris also managed P&L and operations across disparate global markets, resulting in a business turnaround and strategic divestiture.

Before joining WEX, Morris served as Vice President of Corporate Strategy at Verizon from October 2011 to January 2014. In this role, they developed and implemented strategic growth strategies globally for Verizon across consumer and enterprise market segments. Her initiatives addressed growth technologies ranging from international mobility and cloud computing to IOT, analytics, and identity.

From July 2004 to October 2011, Morris served as Verizon Business's Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. Prior to that, they were Associate Vice President at Digex from January 2000 to December 2004 and Senior Manager at Iridium from January 1997 to December 2000.

Nicola Morris has a BA from Wellesley College in Economics and Chinese, and a Master's degree from The Johns Hopkins University - Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Economics/Asian Studies.

Nicola Morris reports to John MacIlwaine, Co-Founder & CEO. They are on a team with Kin Kee - Co-Founder & CTO, Ryan Burke - Head of Product Design, and Chris Chen - Head of Infrastructure and Security.
