Hillman Recreation Foundation (HRF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that builds multigenerational career pathways designed to expose, prepare, and connect talent to opportunity.

We believe access changes outcomes. Many individuals never pursue certain careers because they lack exposure, mentorship, professional networks, or a clear understanding of the path forward. HRF exists to close those gaps by creating experiences, programs, and partnerships that help people move from curiosity to career.

Our work is guided by the Hillman Method™, a framework that equips participants with the knowledge, skills, relationships, and opportunities needed to thrive. Through this model, we help youth, students, professionals, and entrepreneurs explore industries, develop professionally, and build meaningful connections that support long-term success.

HRF’s work spans youth development, professional development, workforce readiness, entrepreneurship, community impact, and health and wellness. We intentionally connect participants with industry leaders, employers, educational institutions, and community partners who can expand access to opportunity and create lasting impact.

Our flagship initiative, the HBCU Run & Brunch™, combines wellness, community, and professional connection while introducing participants to educational, career, and leadership opportunities. More than a race, it serves as an engagement vehicle that demonstrates how recreation, networking, and community investment can create powerful pathways for growth.

At HRF, we believe talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. By creating intentional pathways that expose, prepare, and connect individuals to new possibilities, we are helping strengthen individuals, families, and communities for generations to come.
