We were early innovators of fastpacking in Nepal, and our trips are designed to be quick, light, and self-supported high-altitude adventures on some of the world’s best trails. We are passionate about trail running and long-distance hiking, and our trips reflect that passion. We are committed to ethical travel and do not exploit porters or pack animals. As a locally-owned Nepal company, we have a deep understanding of the culture and terrain and strive to provide authentic experiences for our clients.

We believe that adventure in the Nepali Himalayas should be safe, enjoyable, and authentic. We go above and beyond to make sure our clients are well-informed and prepared for their journey, providing them with trip-specific handbooks, a general HAL Nepal Handbook, and information on Nepali etiquette and altitude sickness. Our guides are well-compensated, have proper medical and helicopter insurance, and have access to a remote doctor who specializes in wilderness medicine. Additionally, we have critical satellite communication devices for added safety to ensure that our clients can have peace of mind during their adventure.

We also support like-minded businesses and their efforts, and offer discounts to participants in events by Boldly Went, Rainshadow Running, Trail Running Nepal, regular listeners of Ultra Runner Podcast, or readers of West Coast weather, students, and school teachers.
