Christopher Shawn

Christopher Shawn has extensive experience in health informatics and standards development, currently serving as Co-Chair of the Community Based Care and Privacy Work Group at Health Level Seven International since July 2010, and as Director of Standards and Interoperability at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs since September 2006. Other roles include founding Co-Chair of the Human and Social Services Work Group and membership on technical and steering committees related to healthcare standards and security. Additionally, Christopher holds memberships with the American Medical Informatics Association and HIMSS, contributing to various committees focused on social determinants of health and cybersecurity. Prior experience includes leadership positions in the U.S. Navy and a role as Co-Chair for the Cross-Enterprise Security and Privacy Authorization Technical Committee at OASIS. Academic credentials include studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Texas Tech University.
