Sumit Kumar

Sumit Kumar has extensive experience in operational transformation and business excellence, currently serving as Assistant General Manager at Hindalco Industries Limited since July 2019. In this role, Sumit leads initiatives within the Extrusions segment under the Parivartan framework, focusing on enhancing productivity, cost efficiency, safety, and system maturity. Prior to this, Sumit worked as EA to the COO, where responsibilities included business performance monitoring and strategic transformation at a major integrated Aluminium plant. Sumit's contributions include leading initiatives that improved process efficiency and reduced waste, along with noteworthy projects such as achieving a 20% productivity enhancement in the Ingot Casting Facility and a 50% reduction in rejections of harder alloys. Sumit began the career as a Graduate Engineering Trainee at the Aditya Birla Group after earning a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra.
