Hinkle Shanor LLP, stands apart. We are one of the largest and most established law firms in the Southwest. Our legacy dates back to territorial New Mexico, when our founder, Granville A. Richardson, established the first law office in the Pecos Valley area of New Mexico in 1888.

The firm's deep roots in the oil- and gas-rich Permian Basin have shaped our diverse practice areas and clientele. We serve businesses spanning a wide breadth of industries, from companies involved in nearly every segment of the natural resources industry to health care organizations, insurance companies, agribusiness and financial institutions.

Our attorneys regularly partner with in-house counsel for businesses nationwide to provide local expertise in oil and gas law, disputes concerning oil and gas matters, tort defense, complex commercial litigation and other areas of practice. The firm also represents municipal and government entities, health care providers, and oil and gas service companies, as well as public utilities in regulatory, transactional and litigation matters.

The firm's legal team consists of skilled attorneys who excel in their fields of practice. Our lawyers have earned recognition from elite organizations such as the American College of Trial Lawyers, American College of Environmental Lawyers, Super Lawyers, Chambers USA and America's Leading Business Lawyers.

Many of the firm's partners have gone on to serve as trial and appellate judges in state and federal courts. Many of our attorneys also have held leadership positions in local and state government as well as civic and professional organizations.
