Andy Long has extensive work experience in content design and strategy. Andy is currently the Content Design Lead/Strategist at NHS England, working as a consultant for Hippo Digital. Andy has also held leadership roles at Hippo Digital, including Head of Content Design, where they managed a team of 18 content designers and was responsible for designing strategies for recruitment, learning and development, and resourcing. Andy also served as the Content Design Profession Lead and Principal Consultant. In other positions, Andy worked with the Government Digital Service as a Lead Content Designer and provided DesignOps support. Andy also worked as a Content Design Lead for Emovis, NHSX, and DWP Digital, where they were a member of the user-centered design leadership team. Prior to these roles, Andy worked as a Digital Content Editor at Sky and as a Digital Content Marketer at Medacs Healthcare. Andy began their career at Atos, where they served as a Team Lead - Content and Development for the Highways Agency and as a Website Editor. Andy's expertise includes content management, strategy development, stakeholder management, and team leadership.
Andy Long attended the Birmingham College of Food, Tourism and Creative Studies from 2000 to 2002, where they studied Tourism Business Management. Prior to that, they completed a BTEC National Diploma in Travel and Tourism at Craven College from 1997 to 1999. Andy also completed their GCSEs at Ilkley Grammar School from 1994 to 1997. Additionally, Andy Long has obtained a certification in the Agile Product Owner Role: Foundations from Lynda.com, although the specific month and year are not provided.
