HiQLCD (High-Quality Life Cycle Database) is a China-specific Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) database built to support transparent, defensible Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and product carbon footprint (PCF) studies. We focus on making Chinese industrial background data easier to use, easier to review, and more comparable across studies—especially when global databases rely on limited China coverage or proxy datasets.

Our datasets are developed with strong documentation and quality control, with an emphasis on clear system boundaries, consistent modeling choices, and traceability of assumptions and sources. HiQLCD is designed to reflect China’s real energy mix, technologies, and supply-chain structures, enabling practitioners to model products and production in China with higher fidelity.

HiQLCD is built for practical workflows: it supports professional LCA toolchains (e.g., openLCA and other mainstream software) and helps users integrate China-specific background data into international reporting and disclosure contexts. We also collaborate with partners across industry, academia, and standards communities to improve interoperability and credibility in the broader LCA ecosystem.
