Founded by startup talent strategist Lori Golden and educator-researcher Dr. Ravi Shah, Hire-U was born from one simple truth: technical skills alone don’t get you hired or keep you thriving.

Lori spent 26 years inside hiring rooms and leadership pipelines, scaling teams at companies like UiPath, Ocrolus, and GloDollar. Ravi spent nearly two decades designing curriculum, coaching students, and researching how identity impacts learning and success. Together, they saw the same problem from opposite sides and decided to solve it together.

The origin of HRE is rooted in bridging the disconnect between academia and the workplace. It emerged from observing how education systems compartmentalize SEL (social-emotional learning), “soft skills” (as interpreted by employers), self-leadership (a deeper dive into emotional intelligence, accountability, and self-regulation), and professional identity.
HRE integrates these elements into a cohesive framework that prepares individuals not just to succeed in the workforce, but to understand who they are within it.
