Tim Welsh

Tim Welsh is a seasoned underwriter with extensive experience in the energy sector. Currently serving as a Senior Underwriter for Energy at Hiscox since June 2023, Tim is involved in underwriting upstream energy and offshore renewables within the marine, energy, and specialty division of Hiscox London Market. Prior to this role, Tim contributed to the underwriting decision-making process in the upstream energy team at Talbot Underwriting for a brief period in early 2023. Tim’s career began at Scottish Lion Insurance Company Limited, where a variety of roles in marine hull underwriting were held from 1989 to 1994. Subsequently, Tim spent nearly three decades at MS Amlin, advancing through positions such as Global Product Leader and Leading Class Underwriter for Energy, before concluding a long tenure there in February 2023.
