Malcolm Bates

Malcolm Bates is an experienced Programme Manager and Engagement Manager at Hitachi Vantara since May 2019, where responsibilities include overseeing multiple projects within data storage systems, digital transformation, IoT, and big data solutions across industries such as banking, finance, retail, and media on a global scale. Prior to this, Malcolm held various roles at Unisys from 1994 to 2010, including Practice Head, where strategic oversight for the Defence Practice was provided, and NavyNet Project Manager, managing technical design and implementation for the Navy’s network. Malcolm also has experience as Senior Project Manager for the Metropolitan Police Service, leading other project managers and overseeing significant projects with a focus on financial management and mentorship. Earlier in the career, Malcolm worked as an IT Consultant at ICL Fujitsu and completed a Computing degree at the University of Plymouth from 1982 to 1984.
