Gerald Hane

Gerald Hane is a Senior Executive at Hitachi Asia since June 2017, specializing in new business development focused on the ASEAN region. Additionally, Gerald serves as a Research Fellow at the Health and Global Policy Institute and as a Lecturer and Visiting Scholar at the Graduate Research Institute for Policy Studies, where the focus is on Science, Technology, and Innovation Policy and Management. Previous roles include President and CEO of Battelle-Japan (2009-2016), where Gerald managed innovation commercialization and research initiatives across diverse fields, and various advisory positions within Japanese governmental institutions. Gerald's early career includes significant contributions to U.S. international science and technology policy. Educational credentials consist of a Ph.D. in Political Economy from Harvard University and both a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University.
