Rob Kirkbride is a seasoned software professional with extensive experience in the transportation sector, currently serving as Chief Software Architect at Hitachi Rail since June 2024. Prior to this role, Rob worked at Thales from January 2001 to June 2024, where contributions included acting as a Solution Architect and Technical Lead across a range of transportation projects, as well as leading the transition of a legacy project to Amazon Web Services. Additional experience includes roles as Functional Team Leader, responsible for the development of engineers, and various software engineering and contracting positions at companies such as Syseca and Westinghouse Rail Systems. Rob holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) (Hons) in Computer Science from Coventry University, obtained between 1988 and 1992.
