Robert Luchs

Principal Engineer, Technical Lead at Hitachi Rail

Robert Luchs has over 30 years of work experience, starting in 1980 at Westinghouse Electric Company as a Systems Engineer. Robert then worked at Tippins Machinery Inc as a Systems Engineer, where they designed and implemented interfaces for controllers. Luchs also worked as a Software Consultant at Asea Brown Boveri, where they were involved in software development.

In 1991, Luchs returned to Westinghouse Electric Company as a Software Consultant, where they worked on porting and redesigning software. Robert also designed and implemented algorithms for nuclear power plants. Luchs then joined Union Switch & Signal as a Senior Software Consultant, where they were responsible for various projects, including designing and implementing communication routines for train control systems.

From 2000 to 2004, Luchs worked at Emerson Automation Solutions and BodyMedia as a Senior Consultant and Senior Software Engineer, respectively. During this time, they designed and implemented software interfaces and storage systems.

Luchs then joined Westinghouse Electric Company as a Principal Engineer and Technical Lead, where they led the development and maintenance of an application server product. Robert also served as a technical lead on a lifetime engineering system project.

In 2007, Luchs moved to Hitachi Rail as a Principal Engineer and Technical Lead, working on the development of switch machine controllers and web applications.
