Ken Gowans is an experienced professional currently serving as Vice Convenor and Chair of the Economy & Infrastructure Committee at Highland Council, where Ken also holds the position of SNP Group Deputy Leader. In addition, Ken has been involved in various roles including former Convenor of the Valuation Joint Board and Chair of the ICArts Group for public art in Inverness. Ken is a member of KIMO International and HITRANS, and serves on the General Teaching Council for Scotland. As a lecturer at the University of the Highlands and Islands, Ken specializes in Visual Communication and Sustainable Design. Previous roles include Principal at Storm Strategic Design, Director at Eden Court Theatre and High Life Highland, and Board Member of the Highland Culture Strategic Board. Ken Gowans holds multiple degrees, including a Masters in Art and Design from Robert Gordon University and a Pg Cert in Teaching in Tertiary Education from the University of Stirling.
