Shawn Edwards

Shawn Edwards has a diverse work experience in the field of technology. Shawn started their career as a Temporary Computer System Technician at the City of Morganton in 1999, where they provided hardware and software support to users and worked with Munis utility software.

In 2000, Shawn joined Mountain Micro Systems as a Computer System Technician/Network Developer. Here, they provided repairs and onsite support for domestic and business customers, and also implemented customer support procedures and network design strategies for sales.

From 2005 to 2008, Shawn worked as a Computer Systems Administrator at the Burke County Department of Social Services. In this role, they were responsible for managing computer systems and ensuring their smooth operation.

In 2008, Shawn joined h.IT Solutions as a Network Operations Engineer. Shawn is currently working in this role, contributing to the smooth functioning of network operations.

In addition to their full-time roles, Shawn also worked part-time as a Technology Instructor at Western Piedmont Community College from 2000 onwards. Shawn also served as a Computer Lab Technician at the college from 1998 to 2003, where they provided technical assistance to faculty, staff, and students, installed and maintained computers and AV equipment, and troubleshooted the Local Area Network.

Shawn Edwards attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008, where they obtained a CGCIO (Government Chief Information Officer) degree. Prior to that, they studied at Appalachian State University from 1989 to 1992 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications. Before attending Appalachian State University, Edwards attended Western Piedmont Community College from 1987 to 1989, where they completed an Associates in Arts and Science degree in Computer Information Systems.
