Evren Samur

Evren Samur is an accomplished academic and researcher with extensive experience in the fields of medical robotics, haptics, and surgical simulations. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at Boğaziçi University since September 2012, Evren has also held positions at HKTM as an R&D professional since March 2022 and as R&D Director from July 2018 to June 2021, where industrial projects were managed and research grants obtained. A Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Boston University in 2021, Evren contributed to the development of a novel module for soft robots. Previous roles included postdoctoral research at Northwestern University and EPFL, along with research assistant positions focused on haptic devices and robotic systems. Evren holds a PhD in Medical Robotics from EPFL, a Master’s in Haptics from Koç University, and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Middle East Technical University.
