Daniel Vreeman's work experience includes several roles in various organizations. Daniel is currently serving as Chair of the Board of Directors at HL7 FHIR Foundation since January 2023. Prior to that, they worked as the Chief Standards Development Officer at Health Level Seven International starting from January 2022. Daniel also worked as the Director of LOINC and Health Data Standards at Regenstrief Institute, Inc. from September 2016 to October 2019. Before that, they held the position of Associate Director for Terminology Services at Regenstrief Institute, Inc. from 2003 to 2016. Daniel started their career as a NLM Medical Informatics Research Fellow at Regenstrief Institute from 2003 to 2005.

Daniel Vreeman's education history begins in 1996 when they enrolled at Cornell University. Daniel pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and completed their studies in 2000. Following this, from 2000 to 2003, Daniel attended Duke University where they obtained a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Finally, starting from 2003 and concluding in 2005, they attended the Indiana University School of Medicine to earn a Master of Science degree in Clinical Research.
