Mohamed Shareef

Mohamed Shareef is a distinguished leader in digital transformation and a former Minister of State for Environment, Climate Change and Technology in the Maldives. Currently, they serve as the Head of Project Management Office at Maldives Islamic Bank Plc and are involved with several organizations, including as a Board Member of the UNU Global AI Network. Previously, Shareef has held various significant roles, including Chief Information Officer at the National Centre for Information Technology and Chair of the Asia-Pacific Information Superhighway Steering Committee at the United Nations ESCAP. They hold a master's degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering with Management from the University of Birmingham and have furthered their expertise in cyber security through programs at the Australian National University and the Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies.
