Joao Soares

Joao Soares is an experienced technology leader currently serving as VP Community Tech at HLTH, a platform dedicated to health innovation and transformation since November 2023. Prior to this role, Joao held multiple positions at Web Summit, including VP Engineering and Engineering Team Lead, from January 2017 to January 2023, contributing to the organization of major global events. Joao co-founded Liquid, serving as CTO from December 2013 to May 2016, and previously held the position of CTO at Mobitto for a brief period in 2013. Early career experiences include roles as a Ruby Developer and IT Sales Manager. Joao holds degrees in Computer Science from ISEL - Instituto Superior De Engenharia De Lisboa and Universidade do Algarve.
