Dr. Ralf Bucher

Dr. Ralf Bucher serves as the Regional Manager for Germany at H&MV Engineering, a specialist high voltage engineering company with global operations. With over 20 years of experience in the energy sector, Ralf held various leadership roles at TRACTEBEL - ENGIE GROUP, including Head of Department for Power Grids & Systems, where responsibilities encompassed overseeing project activities related to consultancy in power transmission and distribution. Ralf's project management expertise includes significant contributions to hydroelectric power plants and pumped storage schemes across multiple countries. Prior to TRACTEBEL, Ralf gained valuable experience at Voith Hydro and ABB, and has a strong academic background with a PhD from The University of Edinburgh and degrees in Environmental and Electrical Power Engineering.
